Hopeless Love
The first time I saw you I fell madly in love, you made my spirit soar like a lovesick dove.
You were a part of the void I had to fill, while I was with you the time stood still.
In the beginning we were the perfect match, in my heart I knew you were quite the catch.
In an instant our love would change, in a blink of time I was in your strike range.
When you saw me talk to another guy, you always gave me the evil eye.
I loved you and yet hated you, every day your anger grew.
I kept trying to convince my friends that I fell down the stairs, but they knew about your anger flares.
It was hard to hide the tears and bruises, yet every day I was the one who always loses.
Today would be the day that I stood up to you, yet there was little I could do.
One day I called the cops and got a restraining order, now you had to stay outside of my protected border.
The restraining order couldn't keep you away, my world started looking awfully grey.
My parents and I were moving out, yet you followed the route like a boy scout.
There was no where I could go that I wouldn't get followed, so I left home and let the shallow water swallow my sorrow.
Wow...that last line is really ominous and powerful. Jealousy can be so damaging, and you've captured that here. I'm enjoying all your sidebar goodies, especially the Titanic kitties. Too cute.
