Painful, Messy--and Remarkable--Journey
You're born into this world so small, yet there will always be someone to see you fall.
Whether they help you up or push you down, you just fell onto the ground.
Choices you make could break you, but some steps you take will take you.
You were ignored as a child, yet always managed to fake the smile.
No place was a safe haven, the sky would turn the color of a black raven.
You could run but you couldn't hide, your life would tear you up inside.
Lonely and rejected, your heart would feel neglected.
Then came a glimmer of hope, someone would come into your life and help you cope.
Your spirit would begin to return, there were new lessons you would learn.
Your heart would heal and you would learn to love, there wouldn't be a challenge you couldn't rise above.
Everyone needs that someone to come along, to be that "glimmer of hope," don't we? Better yet is when we get the chance to be that person for someone else...
