Wish
Upon a Cupcake
Mira’s
birthday was tomorrow,
So
a tiara she would borrow.
Tomorrow
cupcake time would come
A
birthday song they would also hum.
A
special day for a very special little girl,
In
a brand new pink dress she would twirl.
A
birthday banner would sway in the breeze,
While
the pollen would make other little girls sneeze.
Balloons
hanging on the mail box,
Mira’s
guests would say that this party rocks.
Pretty
pink presents for a pretty little girl,
Wrapped
with pink ribbons and an extra little curl.
Mira’s
curly brown hair would be pinned up with bows,
She
would slide her socks over her little pink toes.
A
shelf for presents decorated with pink lace,
There
would be a smile on every little face.
A
tea party with a flare,
Mira
would notice the one person who wasn’t there.
When
a cupcake was presented with a candle,
There
was one wish which Mira had a handle.
She
closed her eyes and made a wish,
Then
put her cupcake on a dish.
All
the sudden there was a knock on the door,
It
was her dad with the puppy for whom she wished for.
She
laughed as the puppy came near,
For
the puppy had filled her with so much cheer.
She
picked up the pup and set him in her lap,
So
the pup went ahead and decided to take a nap.
It
closed its puppy eyes and wagged its puppy tail,
While
Mira went on to open her birthday mail.
Everything
was perfect and not a thing went wrong,
In
end Mira sang her puppy her favorite song.
“Lullaby
puppy that dreams so sweetly,
Curls
up on my lap and sleeps so neatly.
With
his tail tucked under and his paws tucked in,
This
little girl had found her best friend.”
