Last Night in Paradise
We got out of the car and stood on the sand. The warmth of the sand made me think back to when I was a little girl, but I was no longer a little girl. I was in Paradise Cove with my boyfriend John, and we had a private beach all to ourselves. This would be our last vacation alone before we announced our engagement to our family. When we got to our room, we set our stuff down and changed into our swimsuits. I had come out in a two-piece yellow and black bikini. John came out in a pair of graffiti swim shorts, without a shirt. He was muscular and it wasn't as if I hadn't seen him without his shirt before, it was just that every time I saw him shirtless it was like a breath of fresh air. We walked down to the water and as we lay half-way between the sand and where the tide comes in, we kissed. With each kiss I could feel the butterflies in my stomach start to flutter. So after about three minutes we decided to do something a little bit "out of the box." So we decided to leave our swim suits on the beach and went into the sparkling turquois water. The water was slightly chilly but the romance would melt away any kind of tension and put this moment in our memory books. After we got out of the water we wrapped ourselves up in our towels and went up to the room. This would be a "what happens in Paradise Cove, stays in Paradise Cove," moment.
You figured out an ending! I like how you gave closure to the moment but also left it open to wonder about in a way...
