Seeing Red
Anger most times comes in red,
You get so mad you hit your head.
You don't feel like getting out of bed,
You decide to punch the wall instead.
Anger makes you fly off the edge,
Bringing within you a powerful wedge.
You can't contain it by yourself,
So you get the stress ball off your shelf.
Telling yourself you need to calm down,
Only makes the anger come around.
Taking time to figure out,
If your anger has a different route.
I like your closing lines...It's true that we often lose it in anger and act in ways we otherwise would not. I'm glad I don't "see red" very often...
